I am delighted to welcome you on the website of Bremen Town Hall. This historical building is more than 600 years old. We are very proud of the fact that, together with the statue of the "Roland" on the Bremen Market Place, the UNESCO pronounced our Town Hall a world cultural heritage site. This means that all over the world there is no Town Hall comparable to ours. It is unique and simply because of this, a virtual tour of this building is worthwhile. I invite you to pay us a visit via the internet.
Maybe you would like to have a glance at the precious Upper Hall, which amazes each visitor. Please stay also in the Golden Chamber, which was designed 100 years ago by Heinrich Vogeler in the Art Nouveau style. In Bremen, the government is called the Senate. You may want to have a look at the Senate Hall, where the Senate meets each Tuesday. No matter where your virtual tour through Bremen Town Hall will lead you to, you will find interesting and amazing things in each and every room.
However, our Town Hall is not a museum. It is a living place at which for more than 600 years, the people of Bremen have shaped the politics of the oldest city republic in Europe.
